You’re a commercial accountant operating at the highest level. You’ve got a keen eye for scoping and costing projects and solutions, and wherever you go, you inspire and lead colleagues to make smart commercial decisions. You’re at the top of your game – but you want to push yourself further.

We know how you feel. FCO Services are valued by government-level customers worldwide, who look to us to provide secure construction, logistics, digital solutions, and more. Protecting the UK’s interests globally, our organisation has witnessed incredible growth – but our ambitions are bigger still. With our revenue set to grow from £160m to £200m in the next two years, we need to expand our Finance team to keep pace with our success and chart a course for the future.

That’s where you’ll come in as our new Commercial Accountant. Part of a new wave of energetic experts, you’ll be the financial drive behind a thriving business that protects people, information, and assets across the planet. And on top of a strong sense of purpose, you’ll find a home amongst our diverse family and enjoy all the perks and pension of a Civil Service career. In short? It’s your job, bigger.

Provide insight that drives international projects

Whether it’s building an embassy, or moving a government’s servers to the Cloud, we’re bidding for work with a real impact, and our costing has to be meticulous. You’ll make sure each new bid makes perfect commercial sense and accounts for every aspect of the effort involved, achieving value for money for customers and for the UK taxpayer, as well as for our business. But that’s not all: you’ll also make sure our billing and recording of costs is both consistent and constantly improving, checking meticulously for discrepancies and helping us learn from previous projects. You’ll look into everything from standard labour costs to materials, freight and life-cycle, closely working with our design teams and delivery managers to help make smart commercial decisions at every stage.

Apply experience where it has extraordinary impact

Working at government level, it goes without saying that we’re looking for people with exceptional skill, who know how to tackle cost accounting for complex organisations. You’re commercially minded; an experienced analytical brain, and you’ve got the credentials to match, with a CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualification in your back pocket. You’re more than just good on paper though: you’re also brilliant at conveying that expertise to others, making even the trickiest costing concepts easy to understand for colleagues across the business.

Enable business change and find life-changing rewards

You’re facing world-class challenges here – but you’ll also find incredible perks, like our Civil Service pension, free parking, and well-equipped campus, as well as a rare quality of work-life balance. You’ll leave work firmly at the office and get home on time – and if you’ve got young children, you might even take advantage of our onsite OFSTED-registered nursery. This is an inclusive, supportive team where flexible working is the norm. We’re big on diversity, big on inclusion and big on giving you whatever you need to succeed. Like we said, it’s your job bigger – and your benefits too.

Please note: all our colleagues must be security cleared to the highest level, so you will need to undergo a comprehensive vetting process before joining.

Hanslope Park based posts attract a Location Allowance of £1,750 per annum.

FCO Services are regulated by the Civil Service Commission.
