Planning ahead: it’s what you love to do. In fact, you’re a qualified expert in it. You’re the calm, persuasive leader everyone turns to in a crisis, because you’ve already prepared for it – and you help your whole business do the same. It’s no exaggeration that, for any organisation, your skills are important to keeping things running smoothly. But for a business like ours – well, your talents are indispensable.

That’s because FCO Services protect the UK’s interests all over the world, providing secure construction, digital and logistics services to all sorts of government sector customers, including the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. With such far-reaching impact, it’s crucial that we’re ready for anything. Whether it’s a burst water pipe or a cyber-attack, our work continues every day. That means our business continuity planning needs to be airtight and absolutely up-to-date. And that’s where you come in, spearheading the implementation and on-going management of our brand-new business continuity software – as well as honing and improving our plans themselves.

Bring influence that engages everyone
When everything’s going brilliantly, it can be hard to convince people to plan for a rainy day; especially if it’s for a scenario that might not happen. But you’re the kind of leader who can face that challenge head on, managing senior stakeholders, junior colleagues and even wider government partners. With your depth of experience in business continuity, you’ll create an effective strategy, and use your influence to persuade and engage the business in planning for every contingency. You’ve got the gravitas and communication skills to engage at every level, up to and including our most senior leaders. You know best practice, you help everyone understand it, and you nurture your team to be as pro-active as you are, with the right suite of training and support to help them at every step of the way.

Create structure for a critical organisation
Together, our Business Continuity team maintain a framework that protects our organisation – which in turn protects government work worldwide. You’ll be the one who leads the team to ensure that our structure always meets our business needs. You’ll set policy, strategy, and the framework for delivery, ensuring regular document reviews and updates. You’ll ensure that FCO Services achieves and maintains the standards of our ISO 22301 accreditation. And of course, together with your team, you’ll provide business continuity advice across the organisation, helping departments exercise their plans regularly and ensure they’re fit for purpose. In short, you’ll make robust business continuity planning a part of the fabric of our organisation – and in doing so, you’ll help us maintain the reputation that sees customers look to us as a consistently professional, reliable service.

Use your skills to safeguard government work
You’ve always been a champion of business continuity, so it’s time to do it where it matters; where your passion, skill and devotion have more impact than you could imagine. After all, at the end of the day, you’ll be contributing to maintaining a business that helps protect people, information and assets across continents. That’s quite something. And in return, you’ll enjoy brilliant job security and benefits, including a Civil Service pension. Beyond that, it’s about having a say in how we do things – now and in the future – for an organisation that protects the UK’s interests worldwide. Put simply, it’s your job, bigger.

All our employees have to be security cleared so you will need to undergo a comprehensive vetting process before joining.

Hanslope Park based posts attract a Location Allowance of £1,750 per annum.

FCO Services are regulated by the Civil Service Commission.
