Data Analyst Apprenticeship

Two Positions Available.

Ready to learn to analyse data from across our organisation? Want to help us improve ways of working, spot new trends and provide strong analysis to help a range of stakeholders make decisions? Join our Data Analyst apprenticeship programme. Whether you’re a school leaver ready to enter the working world, a career changer, or just looking to enhance your current skills, you’ll find work with a purpose, enjoy instant hands-on experience, and gain paid qualifications that will act as the basis for an incredible career.

But who are we?
You may not know FCO Services yet, but we work with government-level customers to protect the UK’s interests at home and overseas. We do that through a wide range of services, all delivered to the highest security standards, including construction, digital solutions, communications, logistics and counter-eavesdropping.

So what will you do?
Working with our Data teams, you’ll experience different areas of our work as you learn to assess all kinds of data and glean the insights that help drive positive change. From studying project information to looking at our supplier relationships, checking the quality of the data and spotting anomalies to assessing data repository capabilities, you’ll learn to tell the story behind the data – and create reports that influence senior leaders too.

But that’s not all. We’ll also support you while you work towards a Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship qualification. Your studies will cover the theory and practice behind data analysis and put your practical experience into a wider context. When you pass your final assessments, you’ll be able to apply to be on the Register of IT Technicians. Plus there’s a good chance we’ll offer you a permanent position in our team.

In short, you’ll build your skills, make a difference and widen your options – all with the benefits of a career in the Civil Service. So we think it’s fair to say your world just got bigger.

What we look for
Our Data Analyst higher apprenticeship is open to everyone aged 18 and over, but you must:

• Be a British Citizen who’s lived in the UK for the last three years before the first day of your apprenticeship (usually September of the year you apply)
• Have EITHER at least two A levels or equivalent at grade A*-C, including Maths and another numerate subject, OR a relevant Level 3 qualification
• be genuinely interested in data analysis.

If you already have a qualification at the same or a higher level, you may not be able to apply unless the apprenticeship qualification provides learning and skills that are materially different to what you’ve studied before.

It takes a diverse team to protect a diverse world.
The vital work we do takes an incredible community of colleagues, with different skills, backgrounds, cultures and identities. We support every one of them, so they always know they’re welcome and valued. It’s what makes us a Disability Confident employer, Stonewall Diversity Champions, and a member of Employers for Carers - and it’s how you know you’re joining an inspiring, inclusive organisation.

Your salary
Your starting salary will be £16,646 plus £1,750 location allowance and we offer pay progression at key milestones during the apprenticeship. If you’re offered a permanent position on completion of the apprenticeship programme, the final salary would be in the region of £23,780 plus £1,750 location allowance.

All our employees have to be security cleared before joining us, so you will need to undergo a vetting process if you’re successful in your application. This role would require you to undergo Security Check (SC) clearance. You can find out more about vetting on the apprentice ‘How to apply page’ on this site or by searching vetting.
