Based London with regular travel overseas

At FCO Services, we protect information, assets and people for government-level customers in the UK and around the world. So the quantity surveying work we can offer, to experienced professionals like you, is not only technically very diverse but also involves regular travel overseas.

Join our highly skilled Professional Services Centre teams. Gain exposure to a broad range of cultures. Work on iconic and unique buildings in all kinds of interesting places. And watch your career go from strength to strength.

Bring your expertise to all corners of the globe
As a senior professional within the quantity surveying team you will be responsible for providing high-quality cost management and contract administration advice. The projects will range in value from £250k to £10m and utilise the NEC suite of contracts. It’s a role where no two days are ever the same and where you will be regularly presented with unique and challenging situations to develop your skills. Based in London and typically working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will also be required at times to travel alone to another part of the world working autonomously and making decisions on your own initiative. Throughout, you’ll be doing everything you can to solve problems, capture and define customer objectives, and ensure each project meets its end objectives.

You will also have a key role to play in the training strategy for the team and more generally the development of the team’s profile, and that of FCO Services, with our customers.

Take your quantity surveying skills to the next level
We’re looking for a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS or FRICS) with significant post-qualification experience and a proven track record of leading on cost management for design and construction teams. Strong communication and people skills are important, as you’ll be engaging regularly with customers, stakeholders and end users as well as other professionals within your team. You’ll also need some experience of design software including AutoCAD, REVIT and Vectorworks.

Boost your career – and make a positive impact on the world
Our customers, who include the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, look to us to respond with speed, agility and innovation to security challenges that change constantly. This gives every job here added significance and provides you with an ideal environment in which to hone your technical expertise. The rewards are pretty amazing too, with good work-life balance and fantastic benefits, including a Civil Service pension and extensive training and development opportunities. And, of course, there’s the pride and satisfaction you get from working for a business that protects people, information and assets all around the world.

All our employees have to be security cleared before joining us, so you will need to undergo a vetting process if you’re successful in your application. This role would require you to undergo Security Check (SC) clearance. You can find out more about vetting on our website.
